NAMBoard is the National Agricultural Marketing Board of the kingdom of Swaziland. Its purpose is to simulate local production by providing technical service and the marketing of agricultural produce in the country, and particularly to support the small farmer.

In terms of the National Agricultural Marketing Board Act No. 13 of 1985, the Board according to sections 6(a) and 6(d) respectively requires any person wishing to engage or who is engaged in importing and obtain and exporting scheduled products to register with and obtain a permit from the Board

From any person information relating to source, type grade , quality and price of scheduled products.

Encabeni Fresh Produce Market is situated along Mahlanya – Matsapha Road (MR 101) and is a wholesale market that provides a full range of fresh fruits and vegetables. Where possible all produce is bought from local farmers, but some product lines have to be supplemented by selected imports from South Africa.

Our e-services portal www.namboardapp.com enables food importers and exporters to apply for permits online without physically being at our offices.

To register you need to physically appear at our offices with your ID and Business details for verification purposes.

Once registered you can;

  • apply for permits online
  • receive notification when permit approved / unapproved
  • view reports of all permits applied for

We are currently piloting this service and expect it to launch early 2016 but clients that would like to form a part of the piloting phase are welcome to contact the MIS Officer at wandilen@namboard.co.sz or 00268 25186040.

A project funded by the European Union is currently underway in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture (MoA), NAMBoard and Swaziland Water and Agricultural Development Enterprise (SWADE).

One of the projects deliverables is for a fully fledged Agricultural Marketing Information System (AMIS) to be developed.
