Namboard is divided into three sections: Statutory, which controls the importation of certain agricultural products into the kingdom, the Farm Support and Development Unit, which helps small farmers to develop their businesses, and Encabeni Fresh Produce Market, which provides an outlet for the produce of Swaziland’s farmers
Core Functions of NAMBoard
In line with the mandate as prescribed in the enabling Act No.13 of 1985, NAMBoard’s core activities are:
To regulate imports and exports of Scheduled Agricultural Products and goods in transit; To facilitate in such a manner as the Board may consider appropriate, the production, processing, storage, transportation and sale of scheduled agricultural products; To advise Government in all matters related to the availability and demand for scheduled products; To facilitate in the establishment of markets and marketing of locally produced scheduled products in the domestic (national) and international markets. |
